WHO IS ROCHESTER ROOTS?
We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that develops innovative community food system models. We have developed two urban agriculture projects with RCSD schools. We work with students, teachers, and volunteers to grow fresh, nutritious, chemical-free produce on the Franklin Campus where we revived a 24 x 42 greenhouse and turned it into a plant production facility and use two courtyard gardens as well. Our half-acre Clara Barton School Urban Farm provide students with hands-on and experiential opportunities that teach them to grow, maintain, and harvest nutritious produce while supporting the students academic success, improved decision-making skills, leadership opportunities, and workforce development.
